These guys are complete tools. So they are charging millions for “luxury survival condos”. The owner of this place brags that he has a group of rich alpha males that are all going to survive the apocalypse here.
They have spent lots of money to make sure that they have a really really small community of Malignant Jean-Luc Piccards and not enough Redshirts to keep the place running for any length of time.
They also have wasted lots and lots of their space on making it as luxurious as possible- each condo has its own full kitchen etc… so they were not thinking of economy of anything.
Just think how pleasant it would be to live with clueless 1% types who have never suffered any type of deprivation or inconvenience.
My prediction, the “residents” wont last long enough to survive. These people are generally so abhorrent/useless humans that I give it a better than 50/50 chance their security team (billed as former special forces / Navy seal operators) will execute all of the residents and move their own family’s in.
