We’ve talked about the this at length but I found a couple of videos going in depth about the Mad Max films timeline. This guy did a fair amount of research about it and his analysis is sound. It supports my take that Fury Road was supposed to be the 4th film in the series but it was changed up and made into a reboot of the franchise. – JW
